I spent 10 days in the Sahara following the all-female race called Rally of the Gazelles for ESPN The Magazine. Even though I wasn't participating, photographer Lynsey Addario and I followed the women through the desert and essentially did everything they did. There are no GPS devices allowed here, as the name of the game is not speed, but about how well you can read a map.
