I first visited Chan's Home of Egg Rolls, Jazz and Blues last year and was immediately taken by how incredible the space was. John Chan, the owner, has been getting some of the most dynamic jazz and blues acts to come and perform at his space for over four decades. He is beloved in Rhode Island and across the country. I spent a couple days with him at his restaurant and club taking in his operation and meeting one of his longtime returning acts Popa Chubby. If visiting Rhode Island, this place is a must see. It was a lot of fun to report, too!
